Confluence Integrative Care was born from a simple belief: healing is not about returning to who we once were, but rather discovering who we are becoming.
Like many people, Steve's life has been shaped by profound loss and unexpected transitions. Those experiences taught him that healing is not linear and there is no single path toward feeling whole again. Along his journey, he discovered that healing happens through connection, supportive relationships, evidence-based therapeutic practices, nature, moments of stillness, and experiences that remind us we are more than our pain.
Nature taught him something that therapy later confirmed: healing cannot be forced. Like every living thing, we grow when the conditions are right. We need safety before vulnerability, compassion before change, and connection before transformation.
That understanding is the foundation of his work. The word confluence describes the place where 2 separate rivers meet and become anew, creating significant symbolism within the therapeutic setting. At Confluence Integrative Care, we believe healing happens in a similar way—when we honor the connection between mind, body, relationships, environment, and lived experience.
